Winston’s Wish is pleased to announce that we are once again part of a unique product line-up for Christmas 2020, alongside 47 other charities. The feel-good festive range has been revealed in partnership with John Lewis by the non-profit social enterprise, Advent of Change, which pioneered the UK’s first advent calendar with a charity behind each door.
Winston’s Wish have partnered with Advent of Change since it started in 2018 and this year we’re proud to be included in their two brand-new products – the Charity Christmas Crackers and the Charity Advent Candle – as well as the flagship Premium Advent Calendar.
“It’s been a pleasure to see Advent of Change grow from a concept into a power for social good over the last three years,” said Paul Moore, Associate Director of Fundraising at Winston’s Wish. “Kristina and the team have been dedicated to the work of Winston’s Wish since day one and we’re privileged to continue this journey with them in 2020. We can’t thank them enough for their incredibly generous support.”
By the end of 2019, Advent of Change had raised £300,000 for its chosen charities, and after a particularly challenging year for the sector, its founder, 28-year-old Kristina Salceanu from Warwickshire, hopes to raise the same again this year for 48 amazing charities. She said:
“It’s been a challenging year for the charity sector which is facing losses of £10bn due to increased demand for services and lost fundraising income due to the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the main reasons I launched Advent of Change back in 2018 was to enable people to donate to multiple charities with one purchase, helping a number of different causes, and this is needed now more than ever.
“We aim to create the world’s kindest products and are delighted to announce more products that will support more charities for 2020. We are extremely proud to be representing Winston’s Wish with our products.”
Premium Charity Advent Calendar
Winston’s Wish is pleased to be included in this year’s best-selling Premium Charity Advent Calendar. Beautifully updated for 2020 with an eye-catching design and new charity donations, Advent of Change’s flagship product is ready to brighten up the Christmas countdown once again.

Charity Christmas Crackers
We are proud to have been included in a brand-new product for this year and Advent of Change’s most requested product for 2020 – their set of six eco-friendly Charity Christmas crackers people to donate while enjoying Christmas dinner. Each cracker contains one of 24 charity donations on a beautifully designed card bauble, a joke written by a renowned celebrity and, of course, a silver paper hat.

Charity Advent Candle
As one of their brand-new products this year, we’re delighted to have been included in Advent of Change’s luxury scented advent candle, made using 100% natural wax with no parabens and styled to perfection with a beautifully frosted finish. When lit, the candle burns down to reveal hidden numbers while a complementary booklet gives the user information about each of the 24 included charities.
About Advent of Change
Advent of Change began with founder Kristina’s idea to reverse the consumerist nature of Christmas and bring back the giving spirit, but it quickly captured the imagination of many others.
The innovative social enterprise caught the attention of John Lewis and Partners, who will again be stocking the calendars in stores and online this year. Dan Cooper, Partner and Christmas, Gift Food & Experiences Buyer, said:
“In my role, I get to see some really interesting and exciting new products, but Advent of Change really stood out to me as an incredibly innovative way of giving back during the festive season.”
Advent of Change has also secured a number of exciting endorsements from household names such as Richard Branson, Joanna Lumley, Greg James, Lawrence Dallaglio and has even received an award from the Prime Minister for its outstanding contribution to charity and the community.
