This Christmas, thanks to our incredible donors, Winston’s Wish brought colour to the lives of children and young people facing the festive season without the special person they love.
In December, Winston’s Wish held three Christmas parties exclusively for bereaved children and their families. We were able to give 50 children in Manchester, 27 children in Middlesbrough, and 47 children in Cardiff, the chance to connect with one another and most importantly, have fun at Christmas time. That’s a total of 124 children directly impacted because of donations from people like you.
The impact of these Christmas parties was fantastic. 100% of the families who attended said that they had fun, and crucially 100% said that their child had fun – with another 64% saying their child felt less alone in their grief after having attended a party.
My daughter had a great time meeting children her age who had lost their parent. It was the only time she had ever met children who had been through what she had.

Your incredible support to the Christmas appeal meant we were also able to support 6,152 children and young people in December alone, through our on-demand digital bereavement support services.
Winston’s Wish relies on voluntary charitable donations to support children, young people, and their families following the death of someone important to them, and with your help we can continue our mission to ensure that no child has to grieve alone.
Thank you to everyone who got involved in donating, volunteering and helping to colour their Christmas.
We rely on voluntary donations for 90% of our income.
We answer an average of 42 calls and emails a day from families and professionals needing support.
We reached and impacted the lives of 80,000+ bereaved children and young people through our services last year.
Your charity donation can transform a child’s life
The support we received from Winston’s Wish is the backbone to our everyday life now. For the children, they know how they can continue to remember their dad and still connect with him even as their own memories fade.
