Every day across the UK, children and young people lose someone significant to them. The death of someone important can be the most traumatic experience a child will ever have to face. It’s a life-altering event which can, for the most vulnerable, lead to devastating lifelong consequences, including physical and mental illness, social exclusion and shortened life expectancy.
But it doesn’t have to. With the right support, given at the right time, and in the right way, bereaved children can go on to live happy and healthy lives.
Winston’s Wish relies on voluntary charitable donations to support children and their families following the death of a parent, sibling or important person. Since 1992, we have helped tens of thousands of bereaved children and young people and, with your help, we can help tens of thousands more during the most difficult time of their lives.
I lost my Mum to an abusive relationship when I was eight. I really appreciate what you as a charity do and my donations past and present are the least I can do to help children who have experienced what I have experienced.

Your continued advice to me in my job as a school counsellor has been invaluable to the bereaved children I have supported. Thank you Winston’s Wish

Winston’s Wish is a charity that I have been lucky enough to support for a number of years – wonderful support by wonderful people.

Your charity donation can transform a child’s life
The support we received from Winston’s Wish is the backbone to our everyday life now. For the children, they know how they can continue to remember their dad and still connect with him even as their own memories fade.
