Ask Me: Education bereavement training for schools, colleges, nurseries and universities
Bereavement training for education establishments supporting grieving students.

Bereavement training for education establishments from early years to further education
Our new Ask Me: Education training is designed to provide those working in education with tools and techniques to enable them to more effectively support young people who are bereaved or who are facing the death of someone important to them.
It is based on ditching the ‘one size fits all’ approach to bereavement support in education and offering compassionate, tailored grief support to students who need it. You’ll learn the power of listening to bereaved students, giving them a voice and choice in how they are supported through grief and gain the confidence and tools to do this.
The Ask Me: Education training package supports educators to use the Ask Me: Education Manifesto and Bereavement Plans with grieving students in their care. To find out more about the bereavement plans and sign the manifesto, please click here.

What does the Ask Me: Education training cover?
Our Ask Me: Education training package is three modules totalling 3.5 hours delivered online by one of our experienced trainers. These can be delivered as three separate sessions or one session and at a date and time that suits your education setting. By the end of this training course you will:
- Identify common reactions to grief in children and young people
- Recognise young people’s varied responses to grief according to their stage of development
- Have a deeper understanding of some of the key theories underpinning grief support work
- Explore the benefits of creating flexible environments for young people to make choices in how to handle their grief
- Feel more confident in having compassionate conversations with students about their grief
- Increase your confidence in supporting students to complete a bereavement plan
- Consider how a bereavement plan can be used to support a young person with their grief throughout their education
The training costs £350 and is designed for a group of staff in any education setting, from Early Years to Further Education.
