30 Days of Disco

Dance through the 30 days of June and raise money for grieving children and young people

Dance for fun, fitness or to remember a loved one and help raise money for grieving children, young people and families.

Fundraise at home, as a school or group, or at work and join the #30DaysOfDisco party.

Music, dance and grief

Music is a powerful tool to help us to connect to memories and emotions. It can also be used as a tool for coping with our grief and loss.

Here are 5 ways we can use music and dance to help:

  1. It provides a safe space to feel the emotions of loss
  2. It can helps us to express our big emotions
  3. Music can calm the body and mind
  4. Music and dance connects us with other people
  5. Music helps us to honour the memory of our loved ones

How it works

Step 1 – Register to let us know you’re taking part and access our fundraising guide

Step 2 – Plan when you’re going to dance and choose your music

Step 3 – Ask your friends and family to sponsor you – If you choose to fundraise via our GivePenny page you’ll be eligible to feature in our national leader board of disco superstars!

(Of course if you’d prefer to use a different platform like JustGiving, that’s fine too, just fill in the form below to let us know you’re taking part).

Step 4 – Dance and share your photos and videos using our hashtag #30DaysOfDisco

  • Choose one of the 30 days in June to host your own Disco day. Arrive at work dressed up in party clothes, dance for 30 minutes in your lunch break and donate.
  • Arrange a sponsored danceathon with your colleagues and see how long you can keep the party going!
  • Ask your employers if they could take part in ‘matched funding’ where they would match whatever you raise.

However you decide to join in the fun, warm up with a dance challenge in June and show off your best moves. Don’t forget to share on your social media any pics or videos using the hashtag #30DaysofDisco
